The City of Hayden's Department of Public Works mission is to provide excellent customer service to the community and responsible stewardship of Hayden's Municipal Infrastructure.
The Department of Public Works provides for planning and coordination of public services, infrastructure management and development, vehicle fleet management, fuel and oil procurement, disposal of hazardous materials, and building maintenance for specific City-owned facilities. Infrastructure management and development includes: project management; infrastructure management (streets, parks, buildings, docks, etc.); grant writing; parks management; traffic control; maintenance of streets; regulatory inspection in public Right-of-Way, storm water treatment and drainage system maintenance, snow and ice removal, street cleaning and litter control; noxious weed control; pavement management; traffic signs and signals; pavement markings; and serviceability of street lights.
- Sewer service for Hayden residents and businesses is provided by the City of Hayden and is treated by the Hayden Area Regional Sewer Board (HARSB).
- Electric, gas, and solid waste removal/disposal services are provided by private companies.
- Fire and ambulance services are provided by the Northern Lakes Fire District at (208) 772-5711.
