Community Forestry is the management of trees, landscaping, and other similar resources within a community. Community trees can be found along streets, in parks, on public property, and on private property. Likewise, landscaping can be found in the same places. It is the congregation of these trees and landscapes which create the community forest. As a community, we receive multiple benefits from the trees and plantings within the community forest.
Community forests provide benefits that are fundamental to our city's livability, such as clean air and water, cooler streets and homes, beauty, and wildlife habitat. These elements are essential to the health and comfort of any city.
